The FREE KICKS* project, with a focus on EMAS will be part of the future of sustainability in sports at Sport Positive Summit 2024, in collaboration with UN Climate Change, the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This event, taking place on 8-9 October 2024 at the Kia Oval in London, will focus on how the sports industry, especially football, can progress environmental sustainability, with speakers joining from FC Porto, Real Betis Balompié, Malmö FF, Romanian Football Federation and more.

A variety of sessions will be offered across the two day event, including a 90 minute FREE KICKS session, showcasing the project’s objectives and findings - including insights to FC Porto achieving EMAS certification, and progress so far from other partner clubs. See agenda here: www.sportpositivesummit.com/agenda. The event will also be attended by a delegation from the European Commission, representing EMAS.

In addition to the presentations, panel discussions will bring together football clubs to explore the challenges and successes of implementing environmental strategies. These discussions will provide valuable insights into how clubs are addressing sustainability and what governance tools they use to achieve their environmental goals.

The FREE KICKS session offers a unique opportunity to connect with industry leaders, share knowledge, and explore how EMAS can shape the future of sports. Join us to be part of this important dialogue and drive positive change in the sports sector.

If you are unable to join in person in London, you can register for the livestream of this event for free on Wednesday 9th October at 3:00- 4:30PM CET here: Link. To participate in the Sport Positive Summit 2024 full programme, you must purchase a paid ticket.
