We are pleased to announce the publication of the new "Guidelines on organising sustainable meetings and events at the Commission", reflecting the Commission's commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its activities.
Approved in February 2024 by the EMAS Steering Committee, this practical toolkit offers a comprehensive collection of tips for making both small meetings and large conferences more eco-friendly, organised into thematic chapters. It also includes a summary checklist to follow for each event, along with concrete examples, in seven steps that encompass all aspects of event organisation, providing both minimum requirements and advanced options for each stage.
These guidelines were initially drafted addressing Commission staff, but can be a useful toolkit also for anyone organising events, in Europe or beyond.
Three annexes accompany the document: 1) checklist, 2) digital eco-tips and 3) catering technical specifications.
