Since the start of this series of Update Reports on the landscape of biodiversity measurement approaches for businesses and financial institutions, there has been a continuous increase in the number of available approaches. This fifth iteration of the Update Report covers 37 approaches, 7 more than in the 2022 Fourth Update Report. An increased offer of biodiversity measurement approaches is a signal that the market of biodiversity advisory services is innovating and growing, reflecting the increased interest in the topic of the private market.
The Fifth update report includes two main updates and additions:
- Update of the Biodiversity Measurement Navigation Wheel
- Update on biodiversity and ecosystem services measurement approaches
The Biodiversity Measurement Navigation Wheel, already introduced in the third Update Report of 2021, offers a pragmatic decision framework to select the most suitable measurement approaches for specific business contexts.
This updated report will give you an insight into the latest tools and methodologies for assessing biodiversity impacts and dependencies, supported by case studies and practical applications.
Join us for the launch of this report at COP16 on 26 October 2024 from 14:00 - 15:00 local time. The event will take place in the Finance and Biodiversity Pavilion (Blue Zone) at Cali, Colombia. Find out more details about the event here.
